2025 GOODWOOD FESTIVAL OF SPEED
BY
ROB
HARVEY
The Goodwood Festival of Speed is done for another year. This year's event was incredibly hot, with some of the highest
temperatures of the year being recorded. However, the action was equally as hot with the 2025 FoS putting on an
incredible weekend of motorsport with a big focus on Formula 1 as it celebrates its 75th birthday.
I was lucky enough to be there, along with Craig, and despite the sweat and sunburn, it’s safe to say this year’s Festival
reminded us exactly why Goodwood holds such a special place in the hearts of petrolheads.
F1 TOOK CENTRE STAGE FOR ITS 75TH BIRTHDAY
This year’s Festival had a heavy focus on Formula 1. After all, it’s not every day a sport celebrates its 75th anniversary.
Goodwood pulled out all the stops to honour this milestone, bringing together over 100 Formula 1 cars across all eras,
filling the paddocks and screaming up the Hill in a fantastic tribute.
There were curated displays from every chapter of F1’s history. From The Prologue and Pioneers to The Underdogs, The
Innovators, and The Champions, all leading up to a balcony moment on Saturday when seven world champions stood
shoulder to shoulder in front of Goodwood House. Alain Prost, Nigel Mansell, Mika Häkkinen, Emerson Fittipaldi, Sir Jackie
Stewart, Mario Andretti and Jacques Villeneuve were joined by Bernie
Ecclestone and others in an incredible moment.
Another powerful moment was when Nigel Mansell himself drove his FW14B
up the Hill. To see that car in motion again, with Nigel behind the wheel,
was very special.
THE RED ARROWS RETURN
As usual, the roar of engines on the ground was momentarily drowned out
by the scream of jet engines overhead as the Red Arrows performed one
of their flyovers. No matter how many times you’ve seen them, the
precision and power of their display still manage to grab your attention.
Even with so much going on, the Red Arrows remain one of the Festival’s
most iconic moments each year.
