Craig’s Final Thoughts:
My week with the Lotus Eletre has been a journey of discovery. As my first electric car experience, it’s shown me that EVs
can and do work for me and my lifestyle.
The range anxiety is still a thing. Charging requires a little more planning than simply stopping for petrol, and the EV
infrastructure still has a way to go before it’s completely stress-free, but it’s ok. I managed it, and I enjoyed it too.
I liked so many things about the Lotus Eletre, the looks and styling, the technology and the performance are amongst the
best in the world, and you’d expect nothing less from a brand as iconic as Lotus.
But the truth of the matter is, I am not in love with it. It serves a purpose and it does it splendidly, but that’s all it does.
Would I replace my S1 Elise with an Eletre? I wouldn’t.
When I think of Lotus as a brand, it’s the Emira and even the Evija which sit more comfortably with me as to what a Lotus
should be. But like many brands in the world today, I, like them, have to accept that the world is changing and move with
the times. That’s exactly what Lotus are doing right now with their new strategy, and I applaud that.
Molly’s Final Thoughts:
Getting to experience the Eletre R was a real treat.
It’s not every day I can drive a brand new Electric car worth £120,000, and this car does not disappoint.
If you are in the market for a big family car which has it all, style from a sports car, the comfort and practicality of an SUV,
and tech of a spaceship then an Eletre R is for you.
