SELLING A CLASSIC CAR AT AUCTION
It can be a big decision to sell a classic car, after all, the vehicle might have strong sentimental value or could have been
brought back to its former glory via a painstaking restoration.
But when you’ve chosen to enter your pride-and-joy into a classic car auction then there are some fundamental steps to
take.
GET EXPERT ADVICE
The first step is to have the car valued by an auction house, and providing as much information as possible will help
greatly.
This includes anything to do with its history, provenance, condition and notable features, which can all be used to create
the most compelling copy for the catalogue or online listing.
The auction house will also need a copy of the V5/C registration and MOT if required, plus it will run an HPI check.
For vendors with H&H Classics, they will then benefit from intense marketing to help place their classic in front of an
enthusiastic audience of millions via its website and social media channels, plus specialist websites and possibly the
media, including in print and online.
All this activity will help increase interest in your vehicle, so when auction day arrives it stands a good chance of achieving
the best possible price.
