AUCTION DAY ARRIVES
The auction day provides an atmosphere that is buzzing with excitement and tension.
By this time, sellers will have the reassurance of knowing that they, and the auction house, have done all they can to
attract as much interest as possible in their vehicle.
It won’t be long before your car is introduced by the auctioneer who will summarise its history, specification and any
noteworthy features.
However, there’s bound to be some trepidation as to whether the classic will meet, and then exceed, its reserve price
because, as with anything in life, nothing is guaranteed.
Yet that’s part of the magic of an auction, as some cars sell for way above their higher estimates, leading to gasps of
amazement and rounds of applause from spectators as the bidding goes higher and higher, for it to finally finish when the
hammer falls.
BUYING A CLASSIC CAR AT AUCTION
Conversely, buying a classic car at auction provides an equal sense of excitement.
Some might be looking to add to their collection, others might be buying for the first time as they look to relive their
childhood, while others might be looking for a restoration project that will give an enormous amount of satisfaction.
Whatever the reason, there are a number of steps to complete before you can jump behind the wheel of your dream
motor.
