THE STORY OF THE ONLY 1905
RILEY 9HP TO EXIST
BY
ROB
HARVEY
When it comes to classic cars, there are some examples that can make even the most experienced petrol head stop and
stare. I believe that one of these is the 1905 Riley 9hp that was restored over the span of four years in the Bridge Classic
Cars workshop.
This extremely early vehicle comes from a time when cars were more of an experiment than a given. If you also consider
that this car was built more than 120 years ago, you’d be forgiven for thinking it was now nothing more than the
centrepiece of someone's collection.
However, not only is our Riley still very
much drivable, but it also looks like it
played a huge role in the development
of Riley as a marque and also for the
wider automotive industry.
