We’ve seen it on land now with alternative fuels and electric technology being used perfectly in our road racing series but
to see technology used on our waters is just fascinating and offers a compelling vision for the future of sports and their role
in promoting a more sustainable world.
Qatar is a passionate sporting nation, with so much of its recent tourism focus being off the back of the 2022 FIFA World
Cup success. We are seeing more and more global sporting events keen to experience this middle eastern paradise. No
sooner will they see the RaceBird’s exit will they welcome the World Endurance Championship legends to the Lusail
Circuit.
The FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) is the world’s premier international sportscar championship. Contested
over eight rounds across Europe, Asia, North America, South America and the Middle East – there are races of varying
distances, from the shortest at 6 hours to the longest at 24 hours.
Now entering its 13th season, the 2025 WEC calendar gives WEC’s manufacturers, teams and partners intercontinental
visibility in key regions around the world.
With multiple cars racing simultaneously across two categories (Hypercar and LMGT3) coupled with the world’s best
racing drivers, the WEC promises action and entertainment for fans worldwide.
As I write this, I very much look forward to seeing our fellow Brit and classic car enthusiast Jenson Button in the Cadillac
Hertz Team Jota colours.
Thank you Qatar for a wonderful experience and I can not wait to visit and enjoy your hospitality once ag
