GREAT MEMORIES
My 1955 MG Magnette turned more
heads than I was initially expecting.
I was surprised at how many
people would stop and look
through the window when she was
parked up outside a shop or would
talk to me at petrol stations asking
about the car.
I remember on the very first day I
had Audrey, I drove her to the local
shop to pick up some lunch.
When I left the shop, a lady was looking at her and told me the story of how her family used to
own one just like this and that she had so many happy memories of the Magnette that was
once in her life.
That’s the thing with all classics, there are always such personal stories of memories about each
and every one.
A NEWFOUND APPRECIATION
Spending a year with Audrey
changed the way I looked at classic
cars. I didn’t just admire the
stunning collection we always have
in the workshop, I actually
understood why people love them
so much.
I now fully understand and
appreciate why people spend so
much of their time, money, and
energy to keep them alive. There’s
an emotional connection that a lot
of modern cars don’t seem to have.
